NEWS&UPDATES

Outlook PASSWORD CHANGES: We are monitoring the logs and things are looking good—most password changes are going through without issue! Just a reminder: the "self-service reset" feature only works if we have a way to verify it's you (via a phone number or personal email). If you get stuck or need to add a personal email to your file, just drop us a line at it@support.kaa.org.uk and we will help you get set up.

Update to starting pages: The standard loading pages have been updated to streamline your user experience and improve loading times. The Staff Portal is your home page. Whenever the numerous tabs get overwhelming, just close all and click the home button. Please do let us know what we can do to improve it or what other quick links might be useful.

Visualiser App change: We have removed the IPEVO visualiser app from Chrome OS. You can still use it by going to the web app directly should you prefer. It has been replaced by the native Chrome Camera App on the "Shelf" at the bottom of your screen. We have found that 99% of visualiser related tickets were due to the  previous app not detecting the camera correctly.

Passkeys: We fully appreciate the pain of updated password rules.  Unfortunately there will be another round of password updates as we bring the internal systems back online over the coming weeks.  We are moving towards "Passkeys" as a better way of securing our systems.  With passkeys we can allow passwordless login on all computers which should have a big impact on login time and getting your lesson ready in seconds rather than minutes. Please visit the new Security&Safety page with more info and how you can set it up for yourself.

Chrome OS: Please explore the apps available to you  on  Chrome, we have pinned some to the shelf already but please do provide feedback so we can tailor it to be as intuitive and easy to use as possible. Check out this video explainer on how using Classtools can help you manage, engage and focus your students. Most vital shortcuts for teaching desktops below but fuller list available here.

CCTV Requests: We are back in a position to support cctv requests but please note that new rules will apply. We can only deal directly with serious incidents that are clear to identify i.e. "Fight in dining hall" anything else will require the requester to come to IT and find the footage with one of the team.
