I want to enrol a new volunteer, how do I proceed?

Prior to the volunteer starting the activity, the new volunteer/helper needs to provide to KAA an ID (Passport or Driving Licence) and a copy of a recent DBS check (not older than 1 year). Please inform the Admin Officer when he/she first comes in so a copy of these documents will be taken together with a photo ID, and he/she will be issued an ID badge with a grey lanyard to wear all times.

When a DBS isn't available, KAA will apply for a new one prior to start the activity. In the meanwhile the new volunteer isn't allowed to stay alone with students or unsupervised in the school premises, and will be wearing an ID badge wit a red lanyard.

The DBS application includes the following 2 steps:

  • the online application to be completed by the volunteer;
  • the verification of the ID evidences provided during the online application.

Once these steps are completed the application will be submitted to the Disclosure and Barring Service. As soon as the result will be available the Admin Officer will communicate it to the candidate.
